Description of a new species of Molossidae – Dr.. Francois Moutou honored

A new species of Molossidae native of Mauritius has been described in honor of François Moutou (Epidemiology Unit, AFSSA, Maisons-Alfort, France).The species Mormopterus acetabulosus was previously described as present on Mauritius and Reunion. However, morphological and genetic study, conducted on these various islands, showed that individuals of the Meeting may be combined into a new species. The authors named this new species Mormopterus francoismoutoui in honor of Dr François Moutou.
